There was also a campaign on the EGR valve. BMW changed out the EGR valve, EGR cooler, SCR catalyst and mixer under goodwill warranty. The computers also had to be reprogrammed for the new components. 3 years ago after diesel sensor leak and £10,000+ bill to fix (covered by extended warranty) I asked my dealer if there was a connected issue as 268,000 cars had been recalled for an EGR cooler Luckily, still no problems in driving (or not that I can notice). But I had a similar code on my E46 (M47 engine) along with few others and replacing the EGR pressure converter (#11747796634) resolved the problem. I was thinking of doing the same here on my tractor (also as a precaution, since these old valves do die) but I got lost in the process. 0XPedgg.
